My name is Yolanda González and I am a Licensed Clinical Latinx Therapist, in the state of New Jersey.
For a long time I always joked about writing a book titled "What Not To Do".
Having made so many mistakes in life and facing the consequences of my many poor decisions, I often felt defeated but always picked myself back up until the day I couldn’t. Feeling lost and confused, I decided I was going to do whatever it took to help myself and secretly decided to seek the help of a professional. I was quickly diagnosed with depression.
I embraced the idea of going to therapy and allowed myself to be vulnerable. After a few sessions I was able to breathe again.
What I learned:
I learned how to take care of myself despite being a mother, wife, daughter, aunt, sister, social worker, Latina, woman etc. etc..
I learned that taking care of myself did not mean I was being selfish.
I learned that going to therapy was not shameful.
I learned how to practice self care and establish boundaries.
The work I did with my therapist was so profound that I became a therapist!
Today, I get to utilize all of my life experiences, education and training with you!
For over four years, I’ve worked with individuals and families in crisis providing them with a safe and comfortable space where they can begin their healing journey. I have helped my clients with a wide range of concerns including life transitions, PTSD, depression, anxiety, family conflicts, and relationship issues.
If you think you are ready to take that step, I am happy to support and guide you through your journey!
